“I felt like I was doing all the right things.”

Susanne

An athlete and single mother of three, Susanne felt exhausted, foggy, and inflamed even while doing everything right, and kept hearing that her bloodwork was fine. Deeper testing uncovered gut imbalances and adrenal fatigue, and a personalized plan brought back her energy, calmed the inflammation, eased her joint pain, and helped her sleep again.

I just started getting healthy again. I was always an athlete, and I felt like I was doing all the right things over the last four years. I was coming to the gym, I was eating clean, but I just wasn't feeling well. I'd say to my general practitioner, “I don't feel well. I have brain fog. My joints hurt. I feel fluffy. I'm working out in the gym and I can't lose this layer of whatever's on me.” Exhausted all the time.

I'm a single mom with three children. It's me and them. I work copious hours at a high-stress job. I had gestational diabetes with all three of my pregnancies and was insulin dependent, mixing long- and short-acting insulin. I was considered high-risk all three times. My body couldn't control it with diet. And I was tired of my general practitioner telling me, “No, you're fine, the blood work's fine.”

Jim Worthington and Dr. Meg did a video about gifting the blood work for all members, along with a functional medicine consult with Dr. Meg. I thought, “I need this.” It was non-negotiable for me. I got the blood work done, came in, and met with Dr. Meg, and it was an emotional moment. I felt seen and heard for the first time.

There was a lot going on below the surface. For me it was the stress, being a single mom, playing all the roles, doing all the things, and working. Even though I was doing the right things, that wasn't enough. I needed this space. I needed Dr. Meg.

The program is worth every cent, because there really is no price tag on our health. I started with more testing, and that's where we found the gut imbalances, the adrenal fatigue, and the cortisol levels. We worked on a plan. The team here is incredible, very responsive, and they care. This is a concierge, boutique service.

The first eye-opener was the first two weeks, a whole-foods cleanse. That cleanse was a game changer. I took out gluten, dairy, alcohol, and sugar. It was rough for a few days, but it was like a light bulb went on in my brain. The brain fog started clearing.

Then we started supplements, and the team has been by my side the whole time. I've lost weight. The inflammation has calmed down. The joint pain is gone. I'm sleeping better. I still stick mostly to a whole-foods diet and engage on the weekends. It's a healthy balance. We have to live.

I only knew how to work out hard, because I thought that's what our bodies needed. My body isn't designed for that, and this program helped me realize it. I've added a lot of meditation and breath work. As humans, we need connection and engagement when we're dealing with our health and trying to repair. One trip to your GP, they fill a script and it's “bye-bye,” and then you start to think you're a little crazy, that maybe it's in your head. It's really not, and this program confirmed that for me. I can't wait to see where I am in six months, in a year. I know for a fact I'll continue. It's not a six-month thing for me, it's a life thing.

Through loss, healing, and a life-changing diagnosis, Marisol chose to take her health back.

Marisol

An unexpected ovarian cancer diagnosis brought surgery and surgical menopause for Marisol, along with weight gain and years of high blood pressure. Working with Dr. Meg, Jeanette, and Marcie, she rebuilt her relationship with food, lost more than 20 pounds, and brought her blood pressure medication down to a minimal dose.

My name is Marisol Rivera Cully, and I started my YOUR.Life Functional Medicine journey in March 2025. I'd had high blood pressure for a very long time. I had a hysterectomy on June 6th, 2024. It was unexpected, and at that time I was diagnosed with stage one ovarian cancer. It was a blessing in disguise, no radiation and no chemo needed, but it also put me into surgical menopause. With that came the night sweats, the hot flashes, and the weight gain, which pushed my blood pressure even higher.

I'd been a member here for years, mostly for spa services. One day I stopped in and asked if there was a doctor at the front desk. The woman said, “Oh my gosh, you came to the right place,” and scheduled me with Dr. Megan. I came in and told her my story. My journey started with her modules, and I began meeting with Jeanette and Marcie, who have been phenomenal. I started thinking differently about food and nutrition, learning not to be scared of it. It's okay to have a scoop of ice cream, just not three times a day. It's a whole mindset, and this is the right team to have around you for it.

When I started in March 2025, my husband was doing it with me. In April he was diagnosed with leukemia. Having something I knew I had to succeed at really helped me, because suddenly I was his caregiver. This journey was mine, and it was the only thing that helped me through, and it's helping me through the grief of losing him. He was proud of me for taking care of myself.

Going through his health journey makes me realize we shouldn't take our health for granted. If you can change something to make yourself healthier, you should absolutely do it. I have no regrets. It's a lot of work, but it's something I own and feel really good about. I've dropped 20-plus pounds, and the big story for me is my blood pressure: I went from heavy doses of medication down to just minimal doses, which was exactly what I wanted. It's a wonderful journey, and I plan to continue it.

Cortisol & performance

Sean

Sean was deep into CrossFit and committed to his health, but his weight would not move below 195 and he could not figure out why. Advanced testing revealed sky-high cortisol from chronic stress, and once Dr. Meg helped bring it down, the results he had been working toward finally started to show.

Sometimes it's about making money and not about the person. It was perfect timing, because I'd always wanted to take a deeper dive into what's going on on the inside. I own my own CrossFit gym, and health had never been a problem for me until the last three or four years. Nothing could get me to budge off about 195 pounds, and I couldn't figure out why. It turned out my cortisol levels were stupid, crazy high. With the supplements Dr. Meg gave me, the weight finally started to come off.

Dr. Meg pointed out that I was super stressed. She showed me my levels, and I'm thinking, “Okay, that's normal, it starts here, goes really high midday, then comes back down.” And she's like, “Yeah, no, you're starting off high. This is what normal levels look like,” and I was like, “Whoa.” I used to treat stress management as something I'd get to on vacation or some other time, and it was, no, you need to chill out now.

Working with your primary, you're dealing with someone who just went from a 90-year-old woman to you. “You don't have COVID, you don't have this, you feel pretty good? All right, cool, let's get some blood work and I'll see you in six months.” With Dr. Meg it was, “We're going to have you do blood work, but we're also going to look into more than just your typical annual panel. We're going to look at your testosterone, this, that, your A1c.” I got blood work from my primary last week, and the results came back all perfect, not one bad area.

When I teamed up with Dr. Megan and her team, she said, “Your cortisol levels are going to be high. I'm going to have you take this hormonal test, and I'm banking on it, it's going to be that. If that's the case, all we have to do is bring it down and you'll be fine.” Seriously, within a week of taking the supplements and changing a little bit here and there, the weight started coming off. She's not a used-car salesman, and this isn't just a way to get more members. It's a real-deal kind of thing.

“You don't know how bad you feel until you start feeling better.”

Renee

After two specialists declined to test her hormones, Renee came to YOUR.Life for real answers about menopause. Personalized hormone support restored her sleep within days, ended her hot flashes and night sweats within two months, and gave her back the energy to train every morning.

You don't know how bad you feel until you start feeling better. I'm Renee O'Brien, and I began my journey with Dr. Megan in July 2025. I'd been to an endocrinologist and to my OB/GYN for symptoms of menopause, and I wanted to know what was happening with my hormones, specifically through hormone testing. Both doctors told me they don't do that, which shocked me, because I thought the OB/GYN would be the place to go.

For the previous two years I'd also been looking for a functional medicine doctor, and right around that time Dr. Megan announced her practice. I was one of the first to sign up. She met with me and was on board right away with testing. I found out everything, top to bottom, and it was eye-opening. She was cheerful, upbeat, and so excited to help me.

Once the results came back, we started on supplements and looked at nutrition and exercise. Those weren't new to me, but working with her helped me get them all in order at this stage of my life. We took it one small step at a time. We started with progesterone, and that immediately helped my sleep. Then we worked with testosterone and estrogen, and honestly within about two months, maybe less, I had no more night sweats and no more hot flashes. My weight started to balance out. My sleep was phenomenal. I wanted to get up every morning and come here to exercise, and that had been missing.

One of the things that happens in this phase of life is you don't know how bad you feel until you start feeling better, and that's exactly what she did for me. Combined with working with my trainer Larry alongside Dr. Megan, it's taken everything over the top. My hope is that other people can experience this, feel better, enjoy their lives, and get back to doing all the things they love.

Weight & metabolic reset

Sam

Sam was 28, working at the NAC and doing all the right things, yet her bloodwork told a different story. With deeper testing, clear daily goals, and coaching from Jeanette and Marcie, she took real ownership of her health and started seeing the changes she had been chasing.

You go to a normal doctor, they put you on a GLP-1, and it's, “Okay, see you later, good luck.” Here, I was handheld through the entire experience. I'm Sam, the Youth and Family Program Director at the Newtown Athletic Club. I started with Dr. Megan about a year ago, in January 2025. I work at the NAC, I practically live at the NAC.

I was doing all the things I thought I should be doing, but I wasn't seeing the results I hoped for. It took me a long time to admit I needed help with this journey. So I stumbled into The Well Lounge, which isn't far from my desk. I met with Dr. Megan, and it changed my health and my life.

The first thing she did was send me for blood work. This was high, this was red, this was yellow, nothing was where it should be for a 28-year-old. I thought, “I need to get a hold on this right now.” She had me track everything for 30 days, my food and water intake, and gave me goals to hit, and I already saw a change. We decided the right move at the time was to start a GLP-1 medication. Then I met Jeanette, her health coach and nutritionist, and Jeanette and Marcie were a huge piece of it for me, because…
